All interesting points. But regarding this one: "Have a look at the hospitals and how they became overwhelmed with covid cases, and then the non-covid patients start getting no treatment because there are not available resources to everyone. That's what happens when the disease progresses out of control as you are advocating."

Isn't the more a comment of the extremely inadequate state of American healthcare rather than the pandemic? Not enough hospitals, not enough doctors & nurses & other supports, not enough health insurance, a sick population, etc. We need dramatic and quick improvements in all of these because I don't think we should plan our whole lives around health care capacity (especially when we have the national resources to increase it and make it adequate).
